I have been with Beattie Pet Hospital since December 2013. When I was a child, animals had always claimed a spot in my heart. As I grew, my interest and passion for animals grew as well. I always wanted to help anything and everything. If I had my way I’m sure we would have had a whole army of animals growing up. Once in high school, I took a co-op placement a small veterinary clinic, where I learned key aspects in animal care, medicine, and life. I knew from my first day that this was what I wanted to do. Although some days tugged on your heart more than others, nothing felt better than watching that sick pet get better, go home, and the gratitude the owner felt. After my placement was done I was hired on. While working there, I also took on an volunteer position at the Niagara Falls Humane Society, which that brought a whole different light to the animal care field. Watching animals come in scared and abused, and being able to work with them to trust again and then see them find a new loving home, was a great feeling. There where hard days, but rewarding days as well. I took some time away to raise my daughter and when the opportunity came up to get back into a clinic working with animals I jumped at it. I love every day here at Beatties, some are definitely more difficult and challenging than others but no two are the same. We have a great knowledgeable staff willing to help and educate the clients. There is always something new to learn. At the end of the day we are all working together as a team to help care your pets and educate owners on responsible pet care.
