Hi, I’m Meagan. I graduated from Ridgetown College in April 2017 and did my externship at the Ancaster Beattie’s location. After that, I was offered a position at the Stoney Creek location and pursued it, as I loved the atmosphere at my externship! The team I work with is great. I have a special interest in Emergency Medicine, Exotics and Radiography. I love learning and working under pressure. I, like many others, have known I would be in the field of Veterinary Medicine since I was very small. I love that I learn new things every day and have many opportunities to challenge myself. I have 2 Bichon Frise dogs, mother and daughter and 1 lazy cat. Outside of work, I love to spend time with family, play video games and play sports including paintball, soccer, and volleyball.

She decided in grade seven that she would be a vet tech and hasn’t looked back since! She has a special interest in reproduction, as well as behaviour and training. She also enjoys educating clients in various aspects of pet care. Knowing that she makes a difference in an animal’s life by helping to heal as well as keeping it comfortable is what makes the job worthwhile; a passion rather than just an income. She has been living on a chicken farm in Haldimand for the past two years where she is busy with 2 dogs, 2 cats, a hamster and a fish, and four kids. She also enjoys gardening when she has the time.

My fur family includes a 12 year old Chihuahua named Linda, an 8 year old, epileptic Standard Poodle named Paris, 3 DSH male cats- Doug, Toast and Bagel, and last but certainly not least, Crumpet (aka Midge), my 8 year old Muchkin cat! I also foster for many local rescue groups and often times have a house full of kittens as well!

Veterinary Assistants

Breann

Veterinary Assistant

I started working at Beattie Pet Hospital in May 2016. My passion for animals began in grade 8 when I started volunteering at the SPCA. At the SPCA I started with caring for the small animals, to being a supervisor for the youth programs, to working in the clinic. Throughout high school I would pick up shifts working at an animal hospital. During my summers I worked at the SPCA, a few animal hospitals and volunteered at a horse rescue. I learned so much with all these opportunities I decided to continue my education. 4 years later I graduated from the university of Guelph with a degree in animal biology. During my time in Guelph I worked at a dairy farm. Some of my hobbies include going for hikes, playing sports and being outdoors.

Erica

Veterinary Assistant

My name is Erica, I have been working at Beattie Pet Hospital in Stoney Creek since its opening in May 2012.
Animals have always been a passion of mine so after high school I enrolled in the Animal Care program at Sheridan College and graduated in the summer of 2008. After school I got a job working at a local animal shelter. There I learned many great things but decided that I wanted more. So when I got the opportunity to work at a great animal hospital I jumped at the chance to expand my knowledge and use what I had already learned. 4 years later here I am working alongside many wonderful people at Beatties. I share my home with many furry friends. I have 6 cats ranging in age from 12 years to 6 months and 2 sugar gliders, who might I add are very interesting little critters. In my spare time I like to catch up on my reading, hiking and spending time with my family and friends.

Geza

Hi, my name is Geza and I started working at Beattie Pet Hospital July of 2017. I am a graduate from Sheridan College with a certificate in animal care. I have always enjoyed working with exotic animals and hope to one day possibly work with big cats. I have worked with many domestic and exotic animals in the past, I have worked at Toronto zoo as a zoo keeper assistant. The highlights were definitely working with Hudson the polar bear cub and sambuca the black panther. I’ve worked on many farms as I was growing up. I have always had a passion for working with animals ever since I was a child, my curiosity and compassion for the well being of our animal companions gave a reason for working for Beattie Pet Hospital. The biggest pro of my job here is seeing a patient and client go home happy and healthy. In my free time I enjoy drawing, hiking, playing sports, and riding horses. Can’t wait to see you and your pets!!

Rachel

I started working at Beattie Pet Hospital in July 2017. I graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Biology with a focus in Zoology. I have had a passion for animals all my life. I have worked with over 30 different species of animals. I have worked in two zoos facilitates and have trained exotic animals. Through many important experiences, I have gained a desire and obligation for the challenges and responsibilities found in veterinary medicine. My eagerness for the veterinary profession has been a part of my childhood as I consistently had an inclination for animals and their well-being. This interest I developed as a young child allowed me to have a sense of responsibility and pride in providing care for all animals, even as I grew older. I enjoy working in a fast-paced AAHA accredited clinic with a team who is compassionate, caring and wants the best for the patient and the owner. One of the best parts of the job is seeing a patient come in who is sick and leave happy and healthy. I currently enjoy my free time bird watching, riding horses and going on hikes. Excited to meet you and your pets!
