Who is Surgical Referral Services (SRS)?
Where is SRS?
SRS is run out of Beattie Pet Hospital Stoney Creek, located at 131 Upper Centennial Parkway in Stoney Creek. Please be aware that SRS patients are a separate database from the GP practice, will not receive general communications from Beattie, and will have their case transferred back to the referring clinic/veterinarian.
What surgeries does SRS offer?
Dr. Alex can perform a wide variety of procedures, including but not limited to orthopedic cases such as TPLO, Lateral Fabellar Suture, fracture repair, angular limb deformities, patellar luxation repair, FHO, and amputations; as well as soft tissue surgeries including PU, megacolon, TECA, enucleation, and extensive mass removal.
When can clients expect surgery to be booked?
Initial response is usually within 1-2 business days, and surgery or surgical consultation can be booked in typically less than 2 weeks- generally on a Friday.
How does the referral process work?
On receiving a surgical referral (attached), our Surgical Case Manager will review with the surgeon. Recommendations/advice from the surgeon will be relayed along with an estimate to the referring DVM. rDVM to choose whether estimate and available dates are relayed through them or our Surgical Case Manager. All post-op instructions and recommendations will be sent to the rDVM to allow for best continuation of care.
